Breakfast

Breakfasts are truly award winning with Hay Barton being awarded Alastair Sawday’s ‘Most Praised Breakfast Award‘ for 2014. Only the best local produce is used and Jill serves homemade granola, yogurt, marmalade and more. Afternoon tea with freshly baked cake is laid out in the guest sitting room with a log fire and plenty of books and maps to read.

Guests are welcome to use the tennis court and whether they wish to visit Cornwall’s renowned gardens, long sweeping sandy beaches or secluded coastal villages, Hay Barton is perfectly positioned to enjoy the best that Cornwall has to offer.

The Potager

Covid 19

We have been wondering for a while about which way to go with the pandemic, along with most of the population.

Whilst we are happy with accepting guests we feel that a lot of people may be cautious about B and B.  Our eldest child is a Type 1 diabetic so we completely understand the isolating aspect of the virus.  The nature of our business is communication and people meeting and enjoying each others company over Breakfast, tea and watching the sunset.  So setting separate breakfasts times and not servicing rooms does not really feel like B and B to us.

So for July and August this year we are going to rent out Hay Barton as a self-catering unit.  We have added photographs of the two rooms you do not usually see …the kitchen and Drawing Room! We will still be living in the back wing as usual so are on hand for problems. The outside spaces are obviously the front lawn with croquet, the tennis court and we have resurrected our ping pong table!   We have B and B bookings for September and will aim to return to the normal B and B and socialising after the August Bank Holiday.

We do already have some bookings through word of mouth but if you are interested in renting the house for one week do ask about dates.  Due to the size of the house, we  sadly cannot  take bookings for less than a week. The rate will be £1750 per week but dropping to £1500 for stays of two weeks (or more!).

The Potager is let for self-catering for two people as usual.
